El actor británico Gary Oldman obtuvo el domingo el Bafta de mejor actor por su interpretación de Winston Churchill en "Darkest Hour"(Las horas más oscuras) y Frances McDormand el de mejor actriz por su actuación en "Tres anuncios en las afueras".

Ya coronado en los Golden Globes de la prensa extranjera en Hollywood, Gary Oldman se impuso ante Daniel Day-Lewis, Daniel Kaluuya, Jamie Bell y Timothée Chalamet.
La actriz estadounidense Frances McDormand obtuvo el Bafta de mejor actriz por su papel "Tres anuncios en las afueras". Se impuso a Annette Bening, Margot Robbie, Sally Hawkins y Saoirse Ronan.
El galardón para mejor film fue para "Tres anuncios en las afueras", del director británico Martin McDonagh.
Este drama ácido, historia de una madre que pide justicia tras la muerte de su hija, ganó a "Call me by your name" de Luca Guadagnino, "Las horas más oscuras", de Joe Wright, "La forma del agua" de Guillermo del Toro y "Dunkerque" de Christopher Nolan.
La ceremonia de la Academia Británica de las Artes Televisivas y Cinematográficas (Bafta, por sus siglas en inglés) se celebró en el Royal Albert Hall de Londres.
